Art Rental Program FAQ: 

Q: How do you structure pricing in the Art Rental Program? 

A: The rental pricing breakdown is as follows:

• 6 month rental = 25% of the artwork  purchase price
• 12 month rental = 50% of the artwork purchase price

So, let’s say an artwork is priced at $1,000, our clients would spend:

• 6 month rental = $250
• 12 month rental = $500

Q: Can my company purchase artwork at the end of the rental period?

A: Yes! At the end of the rental, the client has the opportunity to purchase the artwork, pending the artist’s approval.

Q: What makes the CAA’s Art Rental Program special? 

A: One unique aspect of our program is that all of our artists are local and we compensate them directly, keeping in line with our mission to promote the local art community. Another unique aspect is that we have access to living artists working in a variety of mediums – painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and more – and in a variety of styles. So, whether you are seeking something abstract or representational, traditional or more contemporary, we can likely connect with an artist that meets your needs.

Q: On average, how many pieces are included in each rental? 

A: It all depends on your budget, your space, and your artwork needs. Here is a rough breakdown of how many pieces of artwork are included in budgets of different sizes:

• Small budget – a $10,000 annual budget would include 5-10 artworks per rental period, depending on artwork size
• Medium budget – $15,000 annual budget would include 10-15 artworks per rental period, depending on size
• Large budget – $20,000 annual budget would include an average of 20 artworks per rental period, depending on size 
• Custom budgets – with access to artwork by over 650 New England-based artists, we can tailor artwork to your budget and space needs.
• The minimum annual budget for participation in the CAA Art Rental Program is $10,000
