Portraiture – Tuesday, June 16
This session focuses on the art of portraiture, with a lightly clothed model seated close to the group for an intimate drawing experience. Working from a variety of angles — front, profile, and three-quarter views — you’ll have the opportunity to study the structure of the face, capture likeness and expression, and explore the subtleties of features, proportion, and light and shadow. Artists are also encouraged to bring a friend and take the opportunity to sketch one another alongside the model.
Instruction with Michelle Stevens – Tuesday, June 23
Work at your own pace with instructor Michelle Stevens on hand to circulate through the room, offering personalized hints and feedback to help you improve your drawing. She will begin the session with a short demo and some helpful tips to get you started.
Long Pose – Tuesday, July 14
This session focuses on 2-3 extended poses. The extra time allows you to move beyond the basics and really explore proportion, anatomy, light and shadow, and detail — ideal for artists who want to slow down and develop a more fully realized drawing.
