What role do you think the artist plays in society?  A huge role. I don’t know where the world would be without art. It is important for those of us who depend on making art as an emotional outlet. And I believe it is an important outlet for people to look at art.

What medium do you currently work in and how did you choose this medium? I work primarily in wood cuts.
I have worked as a printmaker for the past twenty years. A few years ago I was drawn to printing wood cuts.

What is your creative process? Where are you finding ideas for your art these days? I am inspired to work with birds because of all the time I spend on a salt marsh on cape cod watching the many birds I see. I look at many birds and draw the image of a bird on a piece of wood. I then carve the wood.

How do you choose your subject matter? Is there a reoccurring theme that carries throughout your work? I think the above answers this question.
