Call for Entries: Everything Happens So Much

Everything Happens So Much will present a jury-curated selection of contemporary artists’ reflections on living in the Age of Everything. The show will consider the continuous scroll of words, images and ideas that flash through our social-media induced consciousness. Experience has become ambiguous; both sensationalized and made banal by a 24/7 news cycle. How do we stay energized and active in such a world? The artists in the exhibition will face this challenge.

Guest Curator: Kurt Sundstrom, PhD, Curator Currier Museum of Art

Criteria:

Artists from New England

Total of two image submissions allowed per artist.

All media accepted.

All work must be emailed

All work must be priced under $1000 retail.

Call For artists: First Parish Unitarian Universalist of Arlington

The First Parish Unitarian Universalist of Arlington, Massachusetts is seeking artists’ proposals for a work to be located in the First Parish church sanctuary. The artwork we seek will create a contemplative focal point for the front of this dramatic modern space. We are looking for the work to convey a spiritual, inclusive, warm and life-affirming theme or mood that is open to the personal interpretation of the viewer.  The Art Selection Committee is currently looking for letters of interest from which we will select finalists. Please see the attachment for the detailed call for proposals and photos of the space.

Media We are particularly interested in stained glass, mosaic, and ceramics, however, we are open to other media.

Budget The total budget for the finished project is approximately $10,000 including design, presentation and coordination meetings, materials, construction and installation.

Deadlines

  • Letter of interest June 1, 2018
    • Artists will receive general acknowledgement of submission by June 8, 2018
  • Selection of finalists July 15, 2018
    • Upon selection of 1 to 3 finalists there will be a $500 stipend for a design proposal.
  • Finished Work and Installation: December 1st, 2018

Please note we are a small volunteer group with limited capacity to respond to individual questions at this point in the process.  Please do not call the church office for information.
