About | The Cambridge Art Association (CAA) invites you to submit artwork for our Spring Fundraiser Art Auction, Framing Our Future: Celebrating 75 Years of the Cambridge Art Association. The event will be held on Friday, May 8th, from 6-9pm, with a VIP preview from 5-6pm. An online preview of the artworks will be available in advance of the event on this webpage. All funds raised will support CAA’s exhibition program, providing 18 exhibition opportunities annually to emerging, mid-career, and established New England artists.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
This opportunity is open to all artists living and working in New England. For consideration, please complete the application form. All artists may submit up to three (3) works for consideration for the art auction. Submission is free.
The auction will be a silent auction, with an online preview. Submitting work does not guarantee acceptance – all entries will be reviewed by a committee. Accepted artists will be notified via email on April 1, 2020.
DATES & DEADLINES
Submission Deadline | March 18, 2020
Notification of Acceptance | April 1 after 5pm
Drop-off | May 1 & 2, 11am-5pm at Kathryn Schultz Gallery
Pick-up | To be announced
Notification of artwork sale | No later than June 1, 2020
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- All mediums accepted: 2D and 3D work
- All 2D work must not exceed 36 inches on the longest side.
- All 3D work must not exceed 50 lbs.
- All artwork must be in excellent condition.
- All artwork images should be JPG/JPEG files only
- All artwork images should be approximately 2100 pixels (7 inches) on the longest side
- All artwork images should be at least 300 ppi (pixels per inch) resolution
- All artwork images should be a maximum file size of 5MB
- All artwork must be original – we will not accept reproductions of any kind.
- The maximum value of all artwork must not exceed $3,500. If your artwork exceeds $3,500, please contact Erin Becker at ebecker@cambridgeart.org.
- Artwork can be framed or unframed.
FAQs
I am not a member of the CAA. Can I still submit artwork?
Yes! This call is open to all New England-based artists.
How many pieces of artwork can I submit?
All artists can submit up to three (3) works for consideration.
Will I receive a percentage of the sale if my artwork sells?
Accepted artists have the opportunity to donate 100% of the proceeds of a sale, or to take a percentage. Artists will have the option of donating: 100% • 75% • 50% of the final sale.
Minimum bids will be listed at 30% of the retail value of the artwork.
Will I receive a ticket to the May 8th event?
Accepted artists donating 100% of the final sale prices will receive two (2) complimentary tickets. Artists donating 50% or 75% will receive two (2) tickets at a discounted rate of $30 each.
