About | In our call for TEXTURE, we are seeking work that explores surface texture – in paintings, fiber/textile, photo, and more.
About Our Juror | Erica Licea-Kane has been a working artist since the early 1980’s and a college studio art instructor for over 35 years, most recently at Wheelock College for 20 years which included her position as Gallery Director of the Towne Art Gallery 17 years. She received her BFA at the Parsons School of Design, NY, and her MFA at the Massachusetts College of Art, MA, earning both degrees in the field of fine art textiles. Licea-Kane has exhibited her work extensively throughout the United States and abroad and she is currently a member of the Kingston Gallery in Boston’s South End. Recent exhibitions of Licea-Kane’s work include The Krakorian Gallery at the Worcester Center for Crafts, Worcester MA, The Fitchburg Art Museum, Fitchburg MA, Site:Brooklyn, NYC, NY, Able Baker contemporary, Portland, ME, Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, MA, Andrews Art Museum, Andrews, NC, Danforth Museum of Art, Framingham, MA and the Attleboro Museum, Attleboro, MA. She has been the recipient of several grants and fellowships including the 2018 Artist Fellowship in Painting from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the A.R.T Grant from the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, and a Regional Fellowship from the New England Foundation for the Arts of the National Endowment of the Arts. Her work has been reviewed in several publications with recent coverage in the Portland Phoenix, the “Take” section in the Boston Globe, The Portland Press Herald and Take Magazine as well as past reviews in the Boston Globe Magazine, The Boston Herald, Surface Design Journal and several of the Lark Publications Fiberarts Design series of books. Currently she is a visiting lecturer at several institutions in the Boston area.

Submission Deadline | This exhibition includes an in-person jury. This means that the juror will be coming in to review and select artwork in person. The deadline to submit is the last day of drop-off at 5pm.

*Pre-registration is not required. Artists must still bring in their artwork during the drop-off dates below to be considered.

*Artists who are not in contact with staff about a late pick-up within 7 days of the official dates will incur a $15 per week fee until the artwork is picked up. The fee must be paid before or at pick-up.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- All mediums accepted: 2D and 3D
- All artwork must be brought in during any of the drop-off times above to be considered for the exhibition.
- This exhibition space uses a wire hanging system. Please keep this in mind when submitting and preparing artwork.
- All wall mounted work must be wired or have D-rings for hanging. No exceptions.
- All artwork must be brought in during any of the drop-off times above to be considered for the exhibition.
- All artwork must be listed as for sale.
- Artwork cannot exceed 72 inches on any side.
- Artwork must have been created within the past five (5) years.
- Artwork must be original, no reproductions.
- All work submitted must be available for exhibition dates.
- Artwork that has been accepted into a CAA show within the past two (2) years will not be considered.
- Artwork must be gallery ready. Read our Art Entry Information page for more details.
- Diptychs/triptychs are considered as a single work, and must be entered as a single work.
- Total weight of wall mounted work must not exceed 25lbs.
3D WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Total weight of 3D work must not exceed 100lbs.
- Wall mounted 3D work must be wired or have D-rings for hanging. 3D wall mounted work cannot exceed 25 lbs.
- The CAA has a limited number of pedestals. Pedestals can be reserved with CAA Staff upon acceptance. If artwork requires a pedestal of a specific size, the pedestal must be provided by the artist.

This exhibition is open to all Cambridge Art Association Members – Artist, Associate, Student, Lifetime.

Artists can PRE-REGISTER in the link below. Pre-registering allows the process of drop-off to be faster, and easier. However, artists must still bring in their artwork in-person to be considered for this exhibition. Pre-registering is not required. Artists can register in person.
