A new look for the Blog!

Mar 29, 2018

The Cambridge Art Association (CAA) blog is jumping into a new era!

In Fall 2012, we launched the CAA blog as a way to tell the stories of our members and connect with new audiences. Over the past 5 and a half years, the blog has grown by leaps and bounds. We now have an average of 3,000 monthly users, and over 260,000 lifetime page views. And, we have shared hundreds of artist’s stories, and engaged a whole new community of art lovers.

Since last summer, we’ve been hard at work re-envisioning the CAA website and blog. Working in concert with Eric Wing of MetroCreate studios, we worked to add important elements that were missing from our old website – including incorporating more artwork into our site. The new site is also fully integrated with our database – powered by NEON/Z2 Systems. We also made the decision to transition the CAA blog to WordPress, after 5 years of using Blogger as our blogging platform.

We will continue to produce several of our ongoing blog series, including:

ARTIST OF THE WEEK, our ongoing interview series with members of the Cambridge Art Association, will post each Wednesday. Through ARTIST OF THE WEEK interviews, we have featured the stories of over 200 artists in our community over the past four years.

STAY IN THE LOOP, our bi-monthly listing of member news, will post on the 1st and 15th of each month. Members interested in sharing exhibition invitations and other art-related news should email our community.engagement@cambridgeart.org account one week prior to the post date, with “MEMBER NEWS” in the subject line. Please type posting information in the body of your email, and attach images to the email.

ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES will continue to post on a regular basis. These posts will focus on calls at CAA as well as other organizations. Opportunities that you would like to share on the blog should be sent to community.engagement@cambridgeart.org with the subject line “ARTIST OPPORTUNITIES.” Please type posting information in the body of your email, and attach images to the email.

We are also planning a few new series, and look forward to sharing new content with you more frequently! And, don’t worry – the content from the old blog is still there, and can be accessed here.

Thank you for reading, and supporting artists in your community!
