Josephine Dougan

About |  Josephine Dougan is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in Sculpture and Drawing, but also working with Ceramics, Print making, Painting, Mixed media, and Textile/Fiber arts. Josephine was born in Louisiana and raised in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. She came back to America specifically to study and is currently a Junior in pursuit of her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Education at Lesley University. Josephine grew up traveling constantly and seeing so much of the world, spending summers in Tuscany with her father (a drawing professor) and being inspired by visiting both religious sites and art museums. Her work explores the duality of sensuality and violence associated with gender and found in religious imagery. Her work is tactile and ever-evolving. During her internship, she hopes to further evolve herself by chasing new challenges and learning along the way.

You can meet Josephine in person at our Kathryn Schultz Gallery every Friday! Or send her an email at jdougan@cambridgeart.org
